The Last Page of the Chapter

After a year of much thought, I have decided to "put the cap on the bottle" to piano teaching.  It was a tough choice to make because I have been teaching for approximately 8 or 9 years and many of my students are doing SO well right now.  They consistently practice and do their written assignments without having me to insist. In all honesty, the subject of piano music is not my forte but I truly enjoyed sharing my knowledge and ideas with students over the years and watching them accelerate in their studies with the help of their parents.

I will be holding one last recital this June and after that I will start a new chapter in my life.  It is a good feeling to have knowing that during these 8 or 9 years, but especially during these past two years, I have contributed as much as I could and helped fuel the fire for these young students interested in music.  It is my hope that my students will continue that fire and find a dedicated instructor that they dearly love as they did me who can help them along the way.

Thank you to the many parents out there who gave me this opportunity to share my knowledge and skills with your enthusiastic children.  I appreciate all the dedication and support you've shown to me as well as to your child. Parents, through this wonderful experience you have taught me a lot, particularly through simply showing your child that you care about his/her interests and that you support them 100%.  Please continue to provide them with a positive, loving, and nurturing environment to help them become who they really are.

Aloha,
Beverly Rubio
